this weekend, August 5-6 in my neighborhood, 14th + U + P street NW corridors -- 100+ store "neighborhood block party," sidewalk sale, festival, freebies, and dog show (!). could be hot sticky mayhem, or could be fun...

dog show has prizes for cutest puppy, best senior dog, friendliest, etc.
